You update the look of your room and it's easier than you think, but before we install a fan, we got to pick the perfect one with this huge selection of ceiling fans. I don't know how I'm going to pick, so I have to whittle it down by what my friend Kelly needs I'll, be installing this in her living room. Now I know it's a very tall ceiling, so I think five blades. So I'm going to be looking for five blades, then I know she loves the brushed nickel finish. So let me think well, oh, look at this one. Okay, this is gorgeous. I think this fits all of our needs.
Look at this beautiful wood, colored blades, two metro beams, brushed nickel finish and crucial and has two light bulbs for a lot of lights for this living room. I think this is the perfect one, but you know what Sutherlands also has a great selection of down rods and because her ceiling is so high, I think I'm actually going to lower the fan just a little bit for maximum stand coverage. In fact, this brushed nickel one right here, perfect, first make sure to turn the power off at the breaker box. I always like to use an electrical tester to ensure that the power is off. Then we can take down the old ceiling fan now I'll, open the new ceiling fan box and final instructions. First up, I'm going to install the mounting bracket directly to the wood beam, although on most installations, you would secure this to the outlet box in the ceiling. Since I'm using an extension down rod I'll remove the Downrod ball and pin from the shorter down rod and reinstall it to the new longer one, then I'll feed the electrical wires through the new down rod and then secure it to the down rod yoke. Be sure to line up the holes then screw it in place now carefully lift the fan into the mounting bracket and make sure the notch on the down rod ball fits into the ridge on the mounting bracket.
Now, this fan comes with a remote control, so I'm going to add the receiver to the mounting bracket and then connect the electrical wires from the main power source. I'll connect, the black wires, the white wires, and the green ground wires. Together then, from the fan to the remote receiver connect the blasted black white to white and blue to blue, then you can install the canopy to cover the mounting bracket to install the fan. Blades attach the blade brackets to the fan blades with the provided screws then attach the blades to the motor. Now it's on to the light kit, I'll connect, the blue and the black wires together, then the white wires together then screw the light kit in place. We're almost done all that's left to do is install the light bulbs and the glass and secure it with the decorative finial turn on the power. All this left to do is test the light and the fan and we're done look how easy it is to install a brand new ceiling, fan and update the look of your room now, don't stress out, every ceiling fan is going to be slightly different, so make Sure you read the instructions that come with your ceiling fan so don't be afraid to tackle this project this weekend.
